Problem Faced.
The client was undergoing a complex migration process, integrating two businesses into a third. This project involved managing the transition of business processes, technologies, and platforms, which varied significantly across the different businesses. They faced a critical shortage of experienced professionals in Sydney to support the transition, as the necessary talent pool with expertise in the life assurance sector and related technologies was unavailable locally.
Despite efforts by the vendor to source talent, they too faced difficulties in securing the required skillset. The client reached out to us, knowing that Joe had a long-standing relationship with Sydney, dating back to the mid-80s, to help resolve the issue.
Solution Provided.
PiC responded to the challenge by sourcing a team of highly skilled professionals from across Europe, Israel, the UK, and Ireland. Given the unique nature of the project, we ensured that all contractors had significant experience with the relevant technologies and processes, particularly in life assurance.
Ultimately, the client required a model that allowed for around-the-clock support, so PiC introduced the "Follow the Sun" concept. This approach ensured that as Sydney’s team would finish their day, the global team would come on board to continue the work seamlessly, providing continuous support without downtime.
PiC deployed a team of up to 7 people for a 12–18 month duration, ensuring a flexible, effective working model. The team was geographically dispersed, but their ability to work in sync was facilitated by their prior collaborative experience. We also appointed one team leader to act as a conduit between the team and the Project Manager, ensuring clear communication and effective dissemination of information.
