Infrastructure Architect – Life & Pensions

Experienced Infrastructure Architect is required by a Life & Pensions organisation that are growing through acquisition. We are looking for a knowledgeable Infrastructure Architect who can work within the existing culture of a company to ensure that the necessary systems are delivered.

The programme of work is driven by the acquisition of a business that now needs to be integrated into the existing enterprise. Additionally, they are delivering a new life insurance and annuities platform. In addition to the migration of the data from the legacy systems, the new platform needs to integrate with existing and new systems.

We are looking for a personable, confident individual with the knowledge and experience to deliver an Infrastructure that will support the needs if the business for years to come.

Role Deliverables:

• Analysis of
  • Existing infrastruture solutions
  • User needs and expectations
  • Alternative infrastructure architectures and trends
  • Current technology and operational processes
• Create architectural standards
• Recommendation of designs and strategies to improve service and lower costs, while preventing operational issues
• Rationalise servers and infrastructure
• Design services in the area of technology solutions, operations architecture
• Articulate key aspects of architecture and design (e.g., scalability, availability, manageability, robustness, appropriate incorporation of new technology)

Knowledge & Experience:

• Strong experience with On-Prem / Private Cloud Infrastructure services
• Evaluation of cloud applications, hardware, and software on an ongoing basis
• Develop and organize cloud systems and work closely with IT security to monitor the company’s cloud privacy
• Experience with automation and Orchestration of infrastructure operational processes (Ansible, BMC, VMware, Red Hat, Chef, Puppet, etc.).
• Knowledge of main hypervisors (VMware, Hyper-V) and network virtualization (NSX, etc.)
• Experience with Containers (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
• Experienced in:
• Data Center Transformation assessments
• Infrastructure that supports big data
• Definition of Infrastructure Strategies and Roadmap
