Financial Solutions Actuary – Asia-Pacific (Korea-Speaking)
A leading global reinsurer is seeking an experienced Financial Solutions Actuary to join their team in Korea. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on market-leading financial solutions, particularly in the dynamic areas of KICS, Korean IFRS17, and coinsurance.
In this position, you’ll play a key role in developing and implementing strategies to drive the company’s success in the rapidly growing Korean market. As a key part of the Financial Solutions team, you will work closely with senior leaders and regional colleagues to deliver innovative, tailored solutions for clients, addressing complex actuarial and financial needs.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define business strategies, risk appetites, and realistic plans for growth in Korea
- Leverage strong local client relationships and identify new opportunities by addressing clients’ unmet needs and pain points
- Partner with regional and global teams to develop custom solutions, focusing on actuarial assumptions and financial management to meet client objectives
- Work closely with stakeholders, providing expert insight into actuarial pricing, risk management, and strategy execution
What You Need
- 8+ years of experience in financial services, particularly in life (re)insurance or Long-term business in Non-Life (P&C) insurance
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards (Korean IFRS 17), solvency regimes (e.g., Solvency II, KICS), and financial management
- Experience in consultancy, reinsurance pricing, and risk management
- Fluency in both Korean and English (spoken and written) is essential
- Excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skills
